Kieran Tierney 'monitored' by Celtic as Brendan Rodgers helps accelerate transfer plan amid creeping Arsenal deja vu

Celtic are reportedly keeping tabs on Kieran Tierney as he prepares to leave Arsenal in January.

Speculation over an emotional move back to Glasgow's east end has escalated in the recent days after the left-back was spotted with Brendan Rodgers at the club charity foundation's annual gala in London fans. It has left Celtic diehards dreaming of a move back to the Scottish Premiership champions are he looks to kickstart his injury-hampered career away from the Premier League giants.

Tierney - who spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad - hasn't played a minute of football this season after picking up a hamstring at Euro 2024 while on duty for Scotland. But boss Mikel Arteta is said to have already made his decision and told the 27-year-old he is free to leave the Emirates either permanently or on loan in January with the Gunners boasting a number of options on the left side of defence.

And according to talkSPORT, the Hoops are "monitoring his situation" and he "could make an emotional return" to the club he left in a £25m move in 2019. Boss Rodgers could be key in any deal.

TBR report that Tierney is keen on once again playing under Brendan Rodgers once again. However, it is claimed that the defender only wants to make a move from North London when he is back to full fitness.

The Evening Standard report that there is not set timeline for Tierney to return to first-team training. Injury reportedly brought an abrupt halt to an exit plan for the four-time Premiership winner last summer and history could be repeating itself with the January window fast approaching.
