Kieran Dowell has Rangers transfer chat blocked by Norwich boss but telling 'I know what is going on' update arrives

David Wagner insists he doesn't like talking about those who are out contract - but there are things happening behind the scenes at Norwich City with regards potential Rangers target Kieran Dowell.

Ibrox boss Michael Beale has already raided the Carrow Road club this year, bringing Todd Cantwell over the border from England's Championship in January. Former Everton playmaker Dowell's contract expires this summer and it is reported he is another on Beale's transfer radar, alongside QPR's Chris Willock and English goalkeeper Jack Butland, who have been mentioned this week.

Norwich are currently vying for the promotion play-off spots and when pushed on the rumours surrounding Dowell, Wagner was coy with his initial response. But he did give something away, in that there is movement behind the curtain on where he plays his football next season. Asked about the Dowell links to Rangers ahead of Norwich's penultimate match of the regular season against West Brom, Wagner told The Pink Un: "I don’t like to speak about certain individuals.

"I know what is going on behind the scenes, but I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s focus on West Brom and not players out of contract."
