Khabib Nurmagomedov: Female UFC fighter not happy with Russian's latest comments

Khabib Nurmagomedov is facing scrutiny after making belittling comments about female UFC fighters… again!

The former UFC lightweight champion claimed that there are ‘only five or six’ good female fighters and was particular disrespectful towards current UFC champion Julianna Pena.

Pena admitted that she ‘did not appreciate’ the comments made by the Russian regarding her colleagues.

Khabib said, as per talkSPORT: “But Julianna Pena, she is not like the greatest or something like that. She just beat Amanda Nunes.

“We can watch not many good [female] fighters all around the world. There are only five for six again.”

Pena beat Nunes at UFC 269 to become the women’s bantamweight champion and has admitted the Russian annoyed her with his comments.

She said: “I was like, ‘Dude you’re breaking my heart. man. Like, I freaking love you. Like seriously.’

“I saw in a presser that they asked [Nurmagomedov] a question and he was completely downgrading the whole win and everything like that…. it totally broke my heart.

“He must be friends with Kayla Harrison or something,

“I don’t know. Because he was like, ‘If this is the top of women’s division, it’s a joke.’

“I mean, it wasn’t very nice. I didn’t appreciate it Khabib.”

Nunes has accepted the rematch against Pena, which is likely to take place at some point in 2022.

Nunes’ defeat is classed as one of the biggest upsets of all time in mixed martial arts history, losing via second-round submission at UFC 269.

Since Nunes had such a long winning history, Pena said after taking the belt off her, she had no problem giving the former champion an immediate rematch, which Nunes has now accepted.

Nunes is considered as the greatest female UFC fighter of all time, losing once in the last six
