Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou: Khabib Nurmagomedov offers opinion

Tyson Fury is never one to shy away from the spotlight.

The Gypsy King has flirted with ventures outside of boxing, one of which being his foray into WWE.

Now, it seems Francis Ngannou of the UFC could be next in store for Fury when it comes to crossover spectacles, and the legend that is Khabib Nurmagomedov has had his say.

Fury may be keen to talk about fighting the Cameroonian, but there is a lot of hurdles for him to overcome first. A bout with Dillian Whyte is coming up next, defending his WBC title in April against the Brixton boy.

After that Whyte fight, Fury will surely cross paths with Oleksandr Usyk after the Ukrainian beat Anthony Joshua in his last bout.

That being said, Fury vs AJ could one day happen too – what would surely be the greatest fight in the history of British boxing.

Speaking about the potential crossover fight between the heavyweight kings, Khabib labelled Fury as the ‘best right now,’ yet he warned him of the potential bout with Ngannou.

“If they fight in the MMA, of course Ngannou has a chance now – we can see from his last fight,” the Russian said to Sky Sports.

“If they fight in the UFC yeah, Fury doesn’t have too many chances. But in boxing, I don’t see anyone even touching his face – maybe Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk is going to be a tough challenge for Fury.

“But Ngannou? I think he has to stay with the UFC. But if he goes to boxing and he’s making 50 or 60 million dollars – he has to. Why not?”

Fury is yet to really suggest whether Ngannou would enter a boxing ring or vice-versa. Whilst it would be a fascinating spectacle, the likelihood is that Ngannou would prevail in the Octagon, whereas Fury would come out on top in his own domain.
