Kent team at British Transplant Games will look the part after Hythe Lawn Tennis Club help raise money for tracksuits

The Kent team at this month's British Transplant Games will look the part thanks to the generosity of Hythe Lawn Tennis Club.

Hythe LTC chose the Kent Kidney Patients Association as their nominated charity for 2021/22 - and helped raise £820 which will go towards the Team Kent tracksuits for the Games in Leeds between July 28-31.

Established in 1986, KKPA is a non-profit charity, run by kidney patient volunteers, providing financial support, guidance and access to further information and resources for kidney patients in Kent.

The Transplant Games aim to demonstrate the benefits of transplantation and encourage patients to regain fitness, while increasing public awareness of the need for more people to join the NHS Organ Donation Register and discuss their wishes with their families.

Hythe member Tracy West, who runs the KKPA and was shortlisted for the Kent LTA Volunteer of the Year award this year, had a kidney transplant from her father which lasted five years. She then received a donor organ and has thrived ever since and will be taking part in the Games.
