Kent Cricket League Premier Division frontrunners Tunbridge Wells beat St Lawrence & Highland Court; Hayes, basement boys Holmesdale, Sevenoaks Vine and Bexley also win

Leaders Tunbridge Wells beat St Lawrence & Highland Court in the Kent League Premier Division on Saturday.

Alex Williams top scored in the hosts’ 212 all out with 69, Charley Nash (3-31) best for fourth-placed St Lawrence & Highland Court.

Tunbridge Wells, led by Liam McGroarty (3-20), then turned the screw to leave the away side 88-7 before some late away resistance from wicketkeeper Sully Gould (33) and Josh Julian (28 not out) in their 167 all out.

John Grewar was run-out for St Lawrence & Highland Court for 17 - while backing up at the non-striker’s end. Incredibly, it’s the third consecutive weekend where this has happened to him!

A fine Gareth Severin unbeaten century guided Hayes to a seven-wicket home win over Minster.

Third-placed Lordswood were stunned by basement boys Holmesdale, going down to a four-wicket home defeat.

A 62-ball 73 not out from Bradley Goldsack saw Lordswood to 228-7 from their 50-over allocation while Ollie Chaplin (3-30) impressed for Holmesdale.

Half-centuries from Rupert Harbig (54 not out) and opener Sanghajit Wilmott (53) then guided Holmesdale home in the 44th over despite Joe Gordon’s 3-57 and economical Connor Dale (2-17) bowling.

Second-placed Bexley are just five points off the summit after they eased past hosts Sandwich Town.

They had been restricted to 98-7, only for
