Kenny Miller ranks ruthless Rangers win with 'type of football Celtic play' but Raith stroll prompts comfort question

Kenny Miller saw a glimpse of what Rangers could be like against Hibs - but Raith Rovers showed him there's still some way to go.

The Light Blues tore through Lee Johnson's side on their last Premiership outing, winning 4-1 in ruthless style at Easter Road. While a 3-0 win over Raith Rovers did book a place in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic at the weekend, former striker and Record Sport columnist Miller wasn't blown away by Michael Beale's men.

Ange Postecoglou's Celtic have won all but two of their domestic matches this season and some of Rangers' play in Edinburgh brought similarities for Miller. He told Open Goal though that the performance at home to Championship opposition left him wanting more like he'd seen in the capital: "It was very comfortable and things were never in doubt. But it wasn't the performance I was hoping for going to watch off the back of Wednesday. Honestly, it was a performance you would put up there with the type of football Celtic play which was really exciting to watch.

"The game against Hibs flew in but the game on Sunday was a bit of a drag. It was probably too easy but I still think they should have been doing things better, still should have had better energy and forward movement.

"The second goal was an outrageous own goal and it wasn't like it was chance after chance. It was a comfortable, controlled victory, you are in the hat and that is all that matters."
