Kenny Miller flips the Hearts ticket script on Rangers and Celtic as he crunches the numbers on 'disparity'

Kenny Miller has urged Rangers and Celtic chiefs to come to an agreement over away fan allocations in the derby - or they risk biting the standardisation bullet.

Less than half a decade ago, a full allocation was being dished out to away fans at either Ibrox or Celtic Park, creating in turn an outstanding atmosphere in what is undoubtedly the spectacle of the season in the domestic calendar. But attendances have surely but surely dwindled. Celtic were given just 750 fans in Govan last season in Michael Beale's first derby.

That came to a head when a stadium full of silence saw Kyogo's winner sink the Light Blues earlier this season, and the fire has had fuel added to it with Celtic receiving just 578 tickets for their trip to Hearts on Sunday. Brendan Rodgers has called upon SFA chiefs to create a standardisation balance when it comes to away fixtures.

And Miller has gone a step further to both of his old clubs by suggesting they come to a mutual agreement over the amount of fans - otherwise risking biting the bullet when it comes to away fan allocations being set by the league.

He told Clyde 1: "It's tough because what it does is it's going to lead to 'let's just look at our Glasgow teams'. Even now, Celtic fans would be getting less allocation going to Ibrox than Rangers fans would be by going to Celtic Park.

"I don't think the standardised percentage [works], unless it's just a rule and you just have to swallow it. You end up with all kind of arguments. It's the same as England, you could be going to the Emirates that's got 70,000 or you could be going to Bournemouth. It's not just our league that is having a big disparity between the big stadiums and the smaller stadiums.
