Kenny Miller explains why Rangers penalty award was wrong decision and admits 'I would love to say it was a stonewaller'

Kenny Miller insists referee Nick Walsh was WRONG to award Rangers the penalty that helped them on the road to a 4-0 rout of St Mirren at Ibrox.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men were leading through Antonio Colak’s early strike when the Light Blues were handed the chance to double their advantage from 12 yards when Croat Colak went down under a challenge from Buddies stopper Declan Gallagher.

Scotland stopper Gallagher argued against the decision at the time and former Rangers striker Miller agreed that it wasn’t a penalty, despite admitting he’d love to say it was. James Tavernier made no mistake from the spot and Colak and Fashion Sakala added further goals.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene, Miller said: "I would love to say it's a stonewaller but I'd have to say big Declan Gallagher has definitely got the first touch. But Colak comes from Deccy's blind side, Deccy's trying to watch the ball and keep an eye on the man but Colak's movement again, he's always on the move and being pro-active. He just gets across but Declan Gallagher no doubt got the sole of his boot on that ball so it's a harsh decision."
