Kennington manager Dan Scorer is looking forward to getting more players back as his side work through a challenging spell.
Ton have been hit by injuries and suspensions during a run of one win in six games and on Saturday they lost 3-1 to Rusthall in the Kent Senior Trophy second round, despite taking the lead through Rajan Sahni.
They welcomed back two or three bodies against Rusthall and the sooner more return, the better.
Scorer missed the Trophy defeat after receiving a one-match stadium ban as punishment for picking up three touchline bookings this season.
He’ll be back in the dugout this Saturday when Kennington visit Tunbridge Wells in the Southern Counties East Premier Division.
“That was pleasing to get boys back because we are in a bit of a slump and a bit of a cycle with the injuries we’ve had, and it seems to be endless,” said Scorer.
“It’s been right through the spine of our team, which is really unfortunate.
“The suspensions are our own doing but it’s been tough, so we’ve had to keep pushing through poor performances and just hoping that the cycle breaks and that, all of a sudden, individual players are going to churn out a performance after playing poorly for two or three games.
“That’s not something I like to do, I like to keep the squad nice and fresh if we can, and the players respond well to that, so that’s always been a healthy part of the way we do things.
“We’ve had the same 11, 12, 13 players for the last four or five games and not been able to change it, and there’s been games where we needed to freshen it up.
“Getting two or three players through some minutes will hopefully help us and give us one or two more headaches and we’ve got players hopefully returning this weekend as well.
