Kellie Harrington marches on at Europeans in Montenegro

Kellie Harrington moved closer to a European Championships medal with victory over Turkey's Gizem Ozer in Montenegro.

The reigning Olympic champion is one win away from a place on the podium as Harrington looks to add a European gold to that Tokyo gold and the world championships victory in 2018.

Harrington was awarded the win on a split decision to move into the last eight of the lightweight 60kg division, and her next outing will be against Shona Whitwell from England on Wednesday.

Earlier on Saturday, Carly McNaul progressed in the 52kg division with a victory over her Romanian opponent, Ana Alexandra Gheorghe, while Micheala Walsh also moved into the next round following a tough 57kg bout with France's Amina Zidani.
