Let’s get the countdown started, kicking off with 50 to 41:

Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir, who currently plays for women’s football giants Lyon, will be playing at her fourth Euros. In total, the 31-year-old has made 138 appearances for Iceland, scoring 22 goals.

She is set to play at Euro 2022 just eight months after giving birth to her first child. Her return to football has been highly successful so far – Gunnarsdóttir was part of the Lyon side which defeated Barcelona 3-1 in the Women’s Champions League Final.

Gunnarsdóttir has said she wants to prove the “universal truth that, as women and mothers, you do not have to choose between having a family and your career. You can do both.”

Justine Vanhaevermaet will be familiar to regular viewers of the Women’s Super League. The 30-year-old made 19 appearances for Reading this season, hitting the back of the net twice.

She has been a crucial player for Belgium in the country’s qualifying campaign for the 2023 Women’s World Cup, popping up with goals against Kosovo and Armenia last year.

Vanhaevermaet will make her debut at the Euros this summer, having sat out Euro 2017 with an ACL injury.
