Kate Garraway interrupts GMB for 'breaking news' announcement about co-star

Kate Garraway, the host of Good Morning Britain, paused the show on Tuesday morning to share a unique achievement by one of her colleagues with ITV viewers. During a discussion about the ongoing Olympics with co-host Ed Balls, Kate was asked which sport she would participate in.

Later in the show, it appeared she had found her sport after discovering something interesting about one of her colleagues. Interrupting the show, she announced: "Now breaking news this morning.

Sally who is our editor of the day, refusing to come in front of the camera, has just let us know that she got a bronze in a West Midlands competition for synchronized swimming but solo!" Ed was left puzzled by Kate's announcement, pointing out that solo synchronised swimming seemed contradictory, reports the Mirror. The camera then switched to weather presenter Laura Tobin, who was visibly surprised to learn their editor had won a medal in such an unusual sport.

Excitedly, Kate declared: "That's my sport! That's what I'm going to do in the over 50s." However, Ed was still confused about how it could be synchronised if only one person was participating. Speaking through her earpiece to their editor, Kate asked Sally to explain how it worked.

As Ed began to imitate the movements of the sport, the editor seemed to rebuke him through Kate's earpiece, leading Kate to say: "It's an official Olympic sport, Ed, do not mock it!" Kate playfully demanded an explanation on air, saying: "I want Sally in the studio so that she can explain herself and I'd like a picture or some video of solo synchronised swimming because I think I found my sport."
