Kasper Schmeichel warned 'be VERY careful' as Celtic keeper sets alarm bells ringing for Man City ally

Kasper Schmeichel didn't quite look himself against Borussia Dortmund - and the Celtic keeper must 'be careful' he doesn't start to show his age.

That's the view of his former Man City teammate Richard Dunne who saw some warning signs in the shotstopper's performance. Schmeichel had a tough night at the office in the 7-1 defeat though he could hardly be singled out for blame on a night there were barely any pass marks in green and white. It was a sobering defeat and a reminder for Brendan Rodgers' team that they have a long way to go before they're on the level of the Champions League finalists.

Former defender Dunne saw Schmeichel at City when he was just starting his glittering career, which saw him win the Premier League with Leicester and eventually land at Celtic as the heir to Joe Hart. And Dunne, who was still playing for QPR at 36 years old in 2015, reckons his former City pal needs to be 'very careful' not to let his performance levels slip.

He’s won the Premier League, he’s won an FA Cup, he’s played in the Champions League, and now he’s come and found himself playing for Celtic to come in to replace Joe Hart.

“I think at 37 you need to be very careful. You need to keep that mobility and that agility and what Kasper has always done when he’s been in goal, he’s been reactive to saves. He’s really sharp on his line. And just going back to the Dortmund game that we watched a few weeks ago, he wasn’t the sort of Kasper Schmeichel that we’ve been we’ve seen in previous years.
