Kapp, Khaka rested for T20Is as Proteas women name squads for England series

Marizanne Kapp and Ayabonga Khaka have been rested for the T20I series as Cricket South Africa names Proteas women's squad for England's tour of South Africa.

The multi-format series will see the Proteas play three T20Is, three ODIs and a sole Test.

The Proteas decided to rest all-rounder Kapp, fast bowler Khaka and wicket-keeper batter Mieke de Ridder. Additionally, spinner Seshnie Naidu will focus on her academic commitments as she completes her matric exams while aiming to represent the SA at next year's ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup in Malaysia.

Kapp, Khaka, and De Ridder will also rejoin the squad for this decisive ODI series, with the experienced Masabata Klaas back in contention for the one-dayers despite missing out on last month's T20 World Cup.

The T20I squad comprises 14 players, with three additions from the team that reached the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup last month.

The ODI series, which will feature a fourth annual CSA Black Day ODI, will welcome back fast bowler Ayanda Hlubi and left-hander Lara Goodall to the national set-up.
