Kalvin Phillips aims furious gesture at West Ham fans as Man City star's nightmare continues

Kalvin Phillips was caught on camera sticking his middle finger up at West Ham United supporters following the Hammers' defeat to Newcastle United. The on-loan Manchester City midfielder has struggled to impress for David Moyes' side this season, losing his place in the England squad.

Halfway into the second-half of West Ham's clash against the Magpies at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon, Phillips was brought on to replace Michail Antonio. With the Hammers leading 3-1 and Eddie Howe's side dropping like flies, Moyes looked to rest his talisman ahead of a difficult clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening.

But upon the England international's introduction in Tyneside, the east Londoners lost control of the game. Shortly after coming on, Phillips was adjudged to have fouled Anthony Gordon, gifting Newcastle the opportunity to mount a comeback with a spot-kick.

Alexander Isak pulled one back for the Magpies from 12 yards. A few minutes later, the Sweden international found a pocket of space between Phillips and Tomas Soucek in the middle of the park before threading Harvey Barnes in behind the West Ham backline.

The former Leicester City winger latched onto Isak's pass and equalised. Then, in the dying embers of the clash, Barnes slalomed past the Manchester City midfielder on the edge of the box before whipping the ball into the bottom corner past Lukasz Fabianski.
