Kai Havertz: Chelsea star slammed for 'shocking dive' by Jamie O'Hara

Chelsea forward Kai Havertz should have been sent off for diving in the their FA Cup semi-final clash vs Crystal Palace, according to Jamie O’Hara.

Crystal Palace and Chelsea went in 0-0 at half-time at Wembley following an even first-half in which neither side managed to create much in the way of clear-cut chances.

The main talking point came in the 39th minute, when Havertz picked up the ball and attempted to burst into the box, before seemingly going down after contact from the right leg of Marc Guehi.

Although replays swiftly showed that actually Guehi was about a million miles away from making contact…

The outspoken talkSPORT and Sky Sports personality O’Hara was absolutely infuriated as he watched the German international fling himself to the floor in an attempt to get a cheap free-kick on the edge of the penalty area.

The former Tottenham midfielder was reporting on the game for Sky Sports News when he had his say on the incident:

“It’s a shocking dive,” O’Hara said.

“Absolutely no place for it in the game. He’s got a booking for it. The Crystal Palace players are going crazy because that for me is such bad simulation.

“It’s not what you want to see in the game, especially at the highest level in a big moment.

“It’s actually stupid from him because his first touch takes him past the defender anyway. He’s in, he can get a shot off. He’s almost one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

“Shocking from him. I hate to see it in the game. We need to get it out as quick as possible.

“I would have sent him off.”

"I would have sent him off!"
