Kai Havertz vs Yerry Mina: Everton man got Chelsea ace booked in Premier League clash
Everton picked up a crucial three points in their Premier League clash against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
Following Burnley’s victory on Saturday, Everton went into the match in the relegation zone and five points off safety.
But they managed to close the game with a hard-fought victory over Thomas Tuchel’s side at Goodisn Park.
Buoyed on by their own supporters, Everton won 1-0 courtesy of Richarlison’s second-half strike.
Everton’s players were fired up throughout and they came to blows with Chelsea numerous times during the match.
There was a running battle between Yerry Mina and Kai Havertz throughout the 90 minutes.
The latter was booked in the 83rd minute after yet another coming together between the two players.
Havertz tried to knick the ball out of Jordan Pickford’s hands, infuriating the Colombian.
Mina got in Havertz’s face and tried to make him flinch. That didn’t work, though, as Havertz stood his ground.
The German then retaliated and pushed Mina, who was sent flying. To say that Mina exaggerated the contact would be an understatement. View the moment below…
