Kade Wolhuter earns spot on Western Province bench after lengthy injury
Flyhalf Kade Wolhuter is in line to make his return to rugby on Wednesday after earning a spot in Western Province’s team to face the Sharks in Durban.
The Currie Cup action gets underway at 20:00.
Wolhuter suffered an ACL injury last year in a Rainbow Cup SA encounter against Wednesday's opponents.
Tim Swiel will lead the side from the No 10 jersey while he will partner Godlen Masimla at scrumhalf with Cornel Smit and Mnombo Zwelendaba his center pair.
There is an all-new back three with Sergeal Petersen at fullback and Leolin Zas and Andre Manuel on the wings.
Western Province head coach Jerome Paarwater said that after the short break, his team is keen to show they can perform away from home.
"We put in some hard work last week and it will be good to see those plans come through on Wednesday."
Up front the experienced Ali Vermaak comes into the starting front row, while David Meihuizen makes his return from injury in the second row.
"We have some experienced players coming into the starting line-up, so it will be good to see the impact they can make for us," Paarwater added.
