Juventus 'want' to sign Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan and more transfer rumours

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is reportedly wanted by Juventus.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato Web (via HITC), the Serie A giants are lining up a January move for the City midfielder in a bid to turn around their poor start to the season. Gundogan was Pep Guardiola's first signing for the Blues and remains an integral part of their squad.

However, the midfielder turns 32 in a matter of weeks, and his contract is due to expire at the end of this season. The report claim that City would therefore be willing to negotiate with Juventus for Gundogan, with a fee of around £22million believed to persuade Guardiola's side to sell.

The German has started six of City's nine Premier League matches so far this season, scoring twice and assisting once in that time. Guardiola will be reluctant to part with his long-serving midfielder, and the club may well decide to negotiate a new contract with the former Borussia Dortmund player instead.

Elsewhere, City are believed to be rivalling Manchester United and a host of other Premier League clubs for the signing of Lyon right-back Malo Gusto.

According to 90min, the Blues have sent scouts to compile reports on Gusto in recent weeks. As well as rivals United, they also face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham for the 19-year-old's signature. The French defender is an archetypal attacking full-back, something that will appeal hugely to Guardiola.

The teenager is currently under contract with the Ligue 1 side until 2024, but Lyon may well take the opportunity to cash in on their in-demand player while interest is high, as City look to continue their relentless recruitment drive.
