Juventus, AC Milan 'target' former Aberdeen and Hamilton Accies star

Former Aberdeen and Hamilton Accies star Lewis Ferguson will be sold for at least £8m in the summer, with Juventus and AC Milan circling the Scotland international midfielder.

Ferguson, 23, from Quarter, near Hamilton, has received rave reviews in Italy since moving to Bologna for £3m in the summer.

Three goals in 18 appearances have cemented Ferguson's place in the Bologna first team.

His agent, Bill McMurdo, told the Daily Record's Off the Record podcast that the Italian giants are interested in signing him at the end of this season.

He said: "I know for a fact there is interest from AC Milan and Juventus.

"Bologna are very open about the whole thing and have kept me in the picture.

"I've got people who work for me in Italy and they've had a few enquiries.

"I reckon they'll be looking for at minimum of £8m. Having said that, they sold Aaron Hickey for £20m and he only played 48 games for them.

"I think it will happen. He deserves it. He's had to learn the language and a new culture, and he's done very well with that.

"He's very professional. I've dealt with a lot of good players - a lot of duds, too - but he's in a class of his own."

McMurdo was surprised that neither Rangers or Celtic went in for Ferguson while he was at Aberdeen - particularly with his links to Ibrox, being the son of Derek and nephew of Barry Ferguson.

But he says Ferguson is now beyond their reach.

He said: "There was no contact from either Rangers or Celtic. I was even getting people who were involved at Ibrox phoning me and asking 'are you sure we're not interested, here?'

"I don't think a Scottish club will pay the money they'll be looking for now.

"If he deserves it, there's not a doubt in my mind that he will play in the English Premier
