Justin Gaethje fired up for UFC return after undergoing nose surgery

UFC fighter Justin Gaethje has revealed the impact that having nose surgery has had on his life.

When it comes to entertainment value in mixed martial arts, few have been able to provide us with as much joy in recent years as Justin Gaethje.

The man known as ‘The Highlight’ has certainly lived up to his nickname with a blend of absolute wars, crazy knockouts and title fights that leave us on the edge of our seats.

While he may not have won the big one up to this point in his career, he’s the kind of competitor that will forever be remembered for what he’s brought to the sport - and it seems like his run is far from over.

After failing to capture the UFC lightweight title from Charles Oliveira earlier this year, Gaethje went off to have surgery to repair his damaged nose.

It’s something that had been giving him difficulty both in his professional and personal life, and in a recent interview, he spoke candidly about just how important it’s been for him.

“It’s great, it was 13 years with no nose,” Gaethje said. “I’ve had two of my senses pretty much broken and fixed — my eyes and my nose — and I don’t know which one is better. I can’t imagine not being able to see, and being able to see 20-20 is something special, but being able to anticipate your food, sleep, and really just live how we’re supposed to — having two methods of oxygen intake — is something I’m really enjoying right now.
