Jurgen Klopp slams FA over Man City vs Liverpool semi-final planning

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has slammed the FA over their planning of the semi-final cup clash with Manchester City.

The FA Cup fixture will take place at Wembley Stadium on Easter Saturday at 3.30pm. This decision caused anger among both fanbases due to rail engineering works making it impossible for both sets of fans to travel to London and back via train services on the same day.

Following the backlash, the FA agreed to provide 100 free buses for fans who wished to go to the semi-final. City also agreed to fund some buses for the huge clash as both sides look to book their place in the FA Cup final.

Despite the FA's decision to fund some buses, Klopp remains outraged by the decision to host the match at Wembley over Easter weekend. Speaking before his side's match with Watford, the German said: "It makes absolutely no sense.

"I'm not sure what the FA thought - no club from the northwest will be part of the semi-finals? I really can't believe things like this can happen with all information you have."

Liverpool's progression in the FA Cup means that the Blues will face the Merseyside club in back-to-back weekends. Their clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, April 10, could prove pivotal in deciding who will be Premier League champions come the end of the season.
