Jurgen Klopp gives verdict on Erling Haaland punishment after Liverpool FC fine and ban
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his verdict after Manchester City striker Erling Haaland escaped punishment for a social media post he made after the draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
Klopp said he isn't worried about Haaland getting the same treatment as Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, who was fined and banned after being sent off after a game against Newcastle.
Haaland was aggrieved after City's 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur. The Norway international was annoyed that referee Simon Hooper didn't play an advantage from his pass to Jack Grealish late in the game.
The striker later tweeted 'wtf' in response to a clip of the incident. It's been suggested that the City forward could be punished by the Football Association because of his outburst.

Van Dijk was fined £100,000 and given an extra game ban for his reaction to being dismissed at Newcastle back in August. Some have speculated that Haaland might also get a similar punishment for his post-match frustrations, having initially escaped punishment while City were charged for failing to control their players.
However, Klopp isn't interested in seeing the Premier League's top scorer banned for City, even though it would benefit title rivals Liverpool.
"I don't know," Klopp said. "In most of the years the thing Virgil said no one would have recognised. [He said] 'F****** joke' wasn't it? I have no idea exactly what Haaland said, I didn't follow it.
"It is like it is. To be honest I didn't think for a second about it, when I heard about it, it wasn't 'oh we get it, they don't.' As long as you are not emotionally involved it is much easier to accept it, in the heat
