Jamie Carragher responds to Pep Guardiola's brutal Liverpool FC point with Man City dig

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has taken issue with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola's comments about him and fellow pundits Gary Neville and Micah Richards.

Following the late draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, the Sky Sports pundits were deemed to be critical of City for not putting the match beyond doubt. Neville also accused the Premier League champions of complacency while Carragher hinted the stadium had gone 'flat' after being so successful.

In an extraordinary press conference on Tuesday, Guardiola gave a six minute response to the critics. He said: "I don’t have anything to say about the pundits, honestly. It’s not about that [complacency]. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think it’s about complacency.

"I know the players, I know how they run. How we behave is extraordinary. I have a feeling that if we maintain that level, we’ll win the Premier League. We will win it again.

"He knows how difficult it is otherwise Gary Neville would’ve won four Premier Leagues in the best period of Manchester United. But he didn’t do it, you know?"

Guardiola then added: "Jamie Carragher didn’t win one [Premier League title] once. Micah Richards didn’t win four Premier Leagues in a row. Never, ever. It’s never happened. There is more chance of it not happening than happening. Just one Treble before us. It’s so difficult to do it again and again. We don’t have what others have, who haven’t done it for many, many years."
