Jurgen Klopp insists he won't call Steven Gerrard before Aston Villa's game against Manchester City on Sunday.

Liverpool are praying Gerrard's Villa can spring a huge surprise at The Etihad to hand the Reds the Premier League title. If Villa avoid defeat to City, Liverpool can claim the title with a victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield.

A lot has been made of former Liverpool captain Gerrard's involvement on the final day, while Villa's squad also includes former Reds Philippe Coutinho and Danny Ings, but Klopp believes it's 'disrespectful' to Wolves to focus on events at The Etihad. Wolves have lost all seven of their Premier League meetings with Liverpool since winning promotion back to the top flight in 2018.

Pep Guardiola has outlined that his Manchester City side will not feel 'nervous', despite Steven Gerrard warning the City boss that his side were under 'pressure'.

Aston Villa will travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (4pm kick-off) for the last game of the 2021/22 Premier League season which could play a major role in the title race, as Liverpool sit in second place and just one point behind City.

Speaking ahead of the fixture Gerrard said: "There's a lot of pressure on the opposition and we need to try and use that if we can.
