Jung in Celtic transfer address as midfielder awaits 'direct' approach in coy response

Midfielder Jung Ho-Yeon has broken his silence on a the prospect of a move to Celtic - as he left the door open to a potential Gwangju FC exit in January.

Brendan Rodgers isn't looking to stand still in the winter window and recruitment plans appear to be gathering pace at Parkhead with speculation ramping up that the South Korean midfielder is being monitored following his success in the K-League 1. He made an instant impact on the top flight after helping his side to promotion last season and the Parkhead scouts are reportedly keeping tabs on his part in Gwangju's title tilt.

Despite the prospect of a dream move to European football, boss Lee Jung-Hyo has been quickly to play down talk of a switch to the Scottish Premiership for the the 23-year-old. He insists Jung is not ready for a move away from the K-League - and pointed to the struggles of the likes Kwon Hyeok-Kyu in Glasgow's east end

Asked by Korean outlet Sports G about the links to Celtic, Jung said: "I know that such stories are coming out around me. In fact, there has never been a specific or direct contact so far. I heard the same story from my team and agent. I just want to be faithful to my team in every moment."
