Junction closed with reports of overturned vehicle - updates

Police are warning motorists to avoid an area of Bolton after all approaches to the junction of the A58 Crompton Way at Thicketford Road were closed following an incident.

Early reports said a vehicle had overturned, although MancTraffic said that this was yet to be confirmed. The area had been cordoned off as police dealt with the incident, and motorists were advised to find an alternative route. It was not known for how long the junction would be closed and the condition of those involved in the incident was not made public.

MancTraffic tweeted: "Reports a vehicle is overturned within the cordon but not confirmed."

MancTraffic also report a separate collision closure on the A676 Tonge Moor Road at Crompton Way by the Shell garage.

MancTraffic reported around 5am that the A58 Crompton Way at Thicketford Road, Bolton, has now been reopened following the incident that closed the junction.
