Julian Alvarez did not express his gratitude towards manager Pep Guardiola as Manchester City confirmed his transfer to Atletico Madrid.

The 24-year-old's two-year spell at the Etihad Stadium has come to an end with his move announced by the Spanish club. Alvarez has signed a five-year deal with Atletico, and City will receive an £81.5m fee.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Alvarez did not include a reference to Guardiola. He said: "Today I say goodbye to this amazing club, with a lot of emotion. These have been two very special years. During this time, I have grown and learnt a lot - both as a player and as a person.
