Julian Alvarez discusses Man City future amid transfer links away

Julian Alvarez insists he is 'very happy' at Manchester City, despite persistent reports linking him with a potential move away.

Alvarez is a World Champion for club and country now, and scored twice in City's Club World Cup final win over Fluminense on Friday, as well as adding an assist. He has played the majority of City's games this season, but is in a tricky position where he is only playing in his natural position as striker when Erling Haaland is not available or rested.

A player of his quality is bound to attract interest, and Alvarez has been linked with a transfer away should one of Europe's biggest clubs need a striker. Real Madrid have been mentioned as a potential destination.

However, in the aftermath of the Club World Cup final, Alvarez declared himself happy to be at City when asked about his future dreams, and stated his intention to keep winning trophies for the Blues.

“The truth is that I am very happy at Manchester City," he said. “I have been at the club for a little more than a year. I feel very happy with everything we have achieved.

“Last season and from the first moment they have helped me a lot. I have grown a lot as a player, as a person, so in terms of that, I am happy at the club. And obviously one continues to dream and continues to want to win more titles. Now our goal is to win them all over again!”

The Club World Cup is Alvarez's 14th major trophy for club and country, and the Argentine said his remarkable record for winning silverware only makes him want to win more.
