Julen Lopetegui has already shown Manchester United how to solve their Anthony Martial problem

Before Anthony Martial secured his loan move to Sevilla from Manchester United, there was a consensus in the fanbase that this was the right call.

The Frenchman was short of game time under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, leading to his agent, Philippe Lamboley, going public on his client's wish to leave the club in the January transfer window.

Even after scoring in United's 1-1 draw against Everton, Martial was dispiritingly plonked back onto the bench.

Martial is a player who thrives off managers who show trust in him. His brief spell in Spain so far is further evidence of this.

Julen Lopetegui was the man who wanted to bring Martial to Sevilla and, going off an admittedly small sample size, it looks as if he's got the 26-year-old back to his best.

In his home debut, a 2-0 victory over Elche, Martial played an influential part in Papu Gomez's opener before his sensational delivery was met by Rafa Mir to give his team the win.

He built on that with another influential showing in his team's 3-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday night.

Martial netted his first Sevilla goal, coolly finishing off a threatening attack just before half-time on his third start for the club.

The news was received positively by United supporters, who were delighted to see Martial back to his best and enjoying his football. The challenge now is to maintain this form on a consistent basis.
