Journalist issues concerning claim as 'unwanted' Leeds news emerges

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has identified the ongoing saga with Jean-Kevin Augustin who was with Leeds in the 2019/20 Championship campaign.

Jean-Kevin Augustin joined the Whites on-loan from RB Leipzig, but in a deal that meant if Leeds gained promotion to the Premier League that season, then they would have to buy the Frenchman for £18 million.

The season was consequently put on hold due to the pandemic, which meant Augustin’s loan deal came to end after he played just 48 minutes of football for Marcelo Bielsa’s side. But when the league restarted, Leeds did in-fact go on to gain promotion to the top flight.
