Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall press conference explodes in furious rammy as Scot brands raging rival 'a grass'

Josh Taylor has labelled Jack Catterall as a "grass" and has promised to end their bitter boxing rivalry with a knockout victory on April 27 in Leeds.

The two super-lightweights will do battle for a second time over two years on from their first doubt at the OVO Hydro in February 2022, where the then undisputed 140 pound champion Taylor claimed a controversial split decision points win. An injury sustained by the Scot initially held back plans for a rematch but a deal has now been agreed for the 2014 Commonwealth Games medalist to face Englishman Catterall once again in just over two months time.

Taylor comes into the highly anticipated rematch off the back of a lopsided points decision loss to American star Teofimo Lopez at Madison Square Garden last summer, while the man in the opposite corner Catterall has knocked up back-to-back wins against Darragh Foley and ex-three weight world champion Jorge Linares. At a fiery press conference to officially announce the event in Edinburgh, Taylor hit back at Catterall's continued insistence that he should have won the first fight and insists that he will get the job done inside 12 rounds this time around

He said: "Why don't you go and call the police again? Go and get Lindsay Hoyle your MP to write a letter to the police again you grass.

"It is going to be a great night. He said he is coming to knock me out which is great because he has never done that to anyone in his life. I don't hate anyone but I don't like this guy and can't wait to smash his brains in, or what little brains he actually has."

Catterall and his manager Sam Jones were heckled by the local Edinburgh crowd that had gathered to watch the press conference, with Taylor calling Jones a "slag" after he questioned
