Josh Bowler linked with £1million Bournemouth switch as Blackpool face key transfer decision

Bournemouth are readying a £1million offer for Blackpool star Josh Bowler according to reports.

The Seasiders star was wanted by the Cherries in January while Nottingham Forest are also long-term admirers of the midfielder who is entering the final year of his contract at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool rejected a higher bid from Bournemouth for Bowler in January but Scott Parker has returned with a lower offer now he has the carrot of Premier League football, according to The Sun. Blackpool are likely to demand a higher fee for their star man despite his contract status.

Bowler missed the last three games of the season, with then boss Neil Critchley saying the player needed a rest. He netted eight times for Blackpool last season and new chief Michael Appleton faces a decision to make over the 23-year-old with any windfall potentially allowing him to strengthen in other areas.

Bowler has long been linked with a move away from Blackpool and whilst the one-year extension option on his contract was taken up, that will do little to dissuade suitors from returning again this summer. The Seasiders rejected a number of bids for the winger from both Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest in January.

Bowler arrived at Blackpool on a free transfer from Everton a year ago and played 45 times in all competitions last term.
