Jose Mourinho was serenaded by Inter Milan fans on his San Siro return
There are few football managers in the world with a CV like Jose Mourinho‘s.
Since those heady days of European glory at Porto, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ has traversed Europe, winning silverware at will with some of the biggest clubs on the planet.
He transformed Chelsea into the superpower they are today, lead Real Madrid back to the top of the Spanish game and even managed to finish second with Manchester United.
However, it was at Inter Milan where the charismatic Portuguese perhaps enjoyed his greatest success of them all.
While at the helm of one of Italy’s most historic institutions, Mourinho built a side that would go on to secure an unprecedented treble, winning the Champions League, Serie A and the Coppa Italia in 2010.
The likes of Wesley Sneijder and Diego Milito played the season of their lives culminating in that special night against Bayern Munich in Spain.
Milito’s double in the Champions League final popped the cherry on top of a glorious, never-before-achieved cake as Mourinho bathed in the limelight of possibly his greatest managerial achievement.
A lot of water has passed under the proverbial bridge since those dreamy days with Mourinho taking a long and winding road back to Italy.
Now in the hot seat at Roma, Mourinho returned to the San Siro this weekend where his former faithful had a special treat waiting for him.

With Inter 3-0 up and cruising, the fans turned their affection back to Mourinho as they serenaded their former boss to thank him for all the joy he brought in 2010.
With his team 3-0 down, Mourinho couldn’t be seen to outwardly take too much from the moment but you can be sure it will have meant a lot to him.
