West Ham: £40.5m star has 'decision to make' amid internal talks at Rush Green
West Ham United star Tomas Soucek will ‘have a decision to make’ if a Champions League club looks to tempt him away from the London Stadium in the summer, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.
Soucek featured in European football’s elite club competition during his time on the books of Slavia Prague, but that has not been possible since heading to east London.
According to 90min, Soucek’s long-term West Ham future is in doubt after fresh contract talks were put on hold by David Moyes.
The report suggests the Hammers boss informed the hierarchy that he does not believe the 48-cap Czech Republic international warrants a new deal, leading to Soucek feeling undermined and two Premier League clubs considering a summer move.
It comes after it emerged discussions with the central midfielder had been shelved until the end of the season earlier this month.
West Ham first opened talks over a new contract at Rush Green during the final stages of the January transfer window, with Soucek catching the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs since making his loan switch from Slavia Prague permanent for £17.4million close to two years ago.
The 27-year-old’s current agreement, worth £47,000-per-week, is due to expire in the summer of 2024.

Brown believes Soucek remains committed to West Ham and is not interested in seeking a move away from east London.
However, the journalist feels the midfielder, who is known to be ‘incredibly popular’ in the dressing room, could have his loyalty to the Hammers tested if one of Europe’s biggest hitters lodge a bid in the summer.
