Jose Mourinho Netflix documentary to cover his Manchester United tenure

Jose Mourinho's upcoming Netflix documentary will cover his two-and-a-half years at Manchester United.

A four-part series on Mourinho's 25-year career in management is due to be released in January 2025.

Sir Alex Ferguson questionably overlooked Mourinho to succeed him in 2013 before he was appointed United manager in May 2016.

The Portuguese led United to a League Cup and Europa League double in his first season, securing the club's route back into the Champions League.

United then finished second and reached the FA Cup final in the 2017-18 campaign before the Glazer family infamously failed to back the United manager in a fraught summer transfer window.

The failure to recruit a top-drawer centre half had major ramifications and Mourinho was sacked in December 2018 with United sixth and 11 points adrift of fourth place in the Premier League table.

Mourinho remains the most successful United manager in the post-Ferguson era. David Moyes and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer endured trophyless tenures, Louis van Gaal lifted the FA Cup and Erik ten Hag guided United to a sixth League Cup triumph last year.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid coach recently left Roma, where he led the club to Europa Conference League glory in 2022 and the Europa League final last year when they were beaten in a penalty shootout by Sevilla.

In January, Mourinho said: "I'll start shooting my documentary on Netflix. I'll say things that will only be known there because they pay me well!

"And you'll know that I'm a total lunatic."
