Jose Mourinho has already given Ruben Loftus-Cheek verdict amidst brutal Chelsea transfer window
The future of Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains in limbo. He was tipped to become an impressive asset to the club, but his misfortune with injuries has delayed his progress. It is not certain whether or not the midfielder will stay at his homegrown club for much longer.
With that being said, this season, Thomas Tuchel has found a way to help produce some encouraging performances from Loftus-Cheek. Fans have seen glimpses of just how great he could be with the right manager and the correct role.
I'm afraid it might not be enough to give him a desired starting 11 role, especially with Conor Gallagher returning and the addition of potential transfer targets such as Declan Rice and Aurelien Tchouameni. It will be a brutal transfer window for Chelsea as Tuchel begins his rebuild.
Fortunately, Loftus-Cheek has caught the attention of a familiar face.
Tammy Abraham set for another European final as Jose Mourinho unlocks ex-Chelsea star potential
Reports suggested that Jose Mourinho was eyeing a possible reunion with Loftus-Cheek during the January transfer window. Il Romanista reports that Mourinho wants to bolster his midfield options by signing him. Of course, this was not an option that Chelsea was willing to entertain, considering the volume of injuries and unstable form that the Blues were facing. It wouldn't be such a bad idea, however.
Contrary to popular belief, Mourinho does have an incredible history of developing players to reach their optimum potential. He's done it with the likes of Frank Lampard, John Terry, and Didier Drogba in their earlier years. He's also bought out one of the best versions of Harry Kane that we've witnessed during his time at Tottenham, and now he's doing it for Tammy Abraham.
