Jorge Mendes reveals Nico Gonzalez transfer plan after meeting about Wolves star Ruben Neves

Jorge Mendes has confirmed Barcelona have no intention to sell Nico Gonzalez amid links to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Super-agent Mendes met with Barcelona officials on Wednesday evening to thrash out the futures of a number of Gestifute clients. On the agenda alongside Adama Traore, Francisco Trincao and Gonzalez was Ruben Neves, who is a target for Barcelona this summer.

Neves admitted after Wolves' final day defeat to Liverpool that he may have played his last game for the club. In addition to Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in the 25-year-old Portugal international.

Barcelona appears to be the most likely destination for Neves, but the Camp Nou outfit aren't in a position to meet Wolves' £50million-plus asking price. Any deal involving Barcelona for Neves is likely to include players being used as makeweights.

Gonzalez is reportedly the player of most interest to Wolves in any swap deal. The 20-year-old is a client of Mendes and has seen his opportunities become limited since Xavi was appointed head coach of Barcelona.

But Camp Nou bosses rate Gonzalez highly and aren't willing to sell him this summer. Speaking after the summit at a Barcelona restaurant, Mendes told Mundo Deportivo: "They don't want to sell Nico Gonzalez although there are offers for him, he is going to stay, but we have talked about several players and everything has gone well."
