Jordie Barrett set for first Leinster start against Clermont, Zac Ward handed Ulster debut
Jordie Barrett will get his first Leinster start against Clermont in tomorrow's Champions Cup tie, while Sam Prendergast retains the out-half shirt.
Head coach Leo Cullen has made five changes in total to the side that beat Bristol in round one with captain Caelan Doris, Liam Turner, Andrew Porter and Thomas Clarkson all coming in for the Aviva Stadium clash (5.30pm, live on RTÉ).
Barrett, who signed from the Hurricanes on a short-term deal at the end of November, made his debut off the bench last weekend and scored a try in the 35-12 win. He takes the place of the injured Ciarán Frawley at full-back.
Prendergast keeps his place at out-half after scoring two tries on Sunday, with Jamison Gibson-Park set to partner him once more.
Garry Ringrose and Robbie Henshaw continue in the centre, with Jimmy O’Brien completing the back line.
Rónan Kelleher has been named at hooker with Joe McCarthy and James Ryan packing down together in the second row.
Meanwhile, Josh van der Flier continues at openside flanker after being named Player of the Autumn Nations Series and Max Deegan takes the number 6 shirt.
There are three academy players, Gus McCarthy, Fintan Gunne and Andrew Osborne, among the replacements.
There is plenty of experience on the bench too, with Cian Healy and Rabah Slimani offering support in the front row with RG Snyman, Jack Conan and Ross Byrne providing the rest of the cover.
Clermont beat Benetton 28-0 in their opening Pool 3 tie.
