Jones and Whitmore secure full time rides with Rich Energy OMG

Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha will run Chloe Jones and Lissy Whitmore as junior riders for 2022’s BSB season.

The two upcoming racers join as full team members for 2022 with Jones stepping up to contest the Pirelli Junior Superstock Championship while Whitmore returns to HEL Performance British Junior Supersport.

After a rollercoaster year in the Junior Supersport class, Jones progresses to a Yamaha R6 next season with the 18-year-old from Daventry already getting to grips with her new machine at Cartagena, Spain in December.

Lincolnshire’s Whitmore returns for her second Junior Supersport season after a difficult rookie year but is determined to add to her silverware collection on the R3 for 2022.

“Firstly, I just want to say a massive thank you to the Rich Energy OMG Racing team for allowing me to ride for the team this year,” Jones said on the announcement. “It’s an amazing feeling to have the full support of a British Superbike team behind me as we make the step into the Pirelli Junior Superstock Championship aboard the awesome Yamaha R6. It’s going to be a season with a lot of learning but I’m ready for the challenge and really excited to get going!”

“I’m incredibly grateful to Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha for giving me the opportunity to ride for them in the HEL Performance British Junior Supersport Championship on the beautiful Yamaha R3,” Whitmore added. “It’s really exciting to see where the journey takes us and after the difficulties of 2021 the whole thing is like a breath of fresh air.
