Johnny Vegas' glamping site closes after issues with 'leaky motorhomes'

Johnny Vegas' glamping site was forced to close after reportedly 'struggling to cope' with wet and windy weather. Most guests at Fields of Dreams , near Harrogate in Yorkshire, enjoyed their stay at the site, which was designed by the comedian and his assistant Bev Dixon.

But YorkshireLive reports that according to Louise Pullan, who runs the farm where the vehicles were pitched, some guests were forced to put up with leaks in their vintage vehicles. According to a guest who stayed on the American school bus, the bedding and seating area was left "wet through" after the Yorkshire weather took a turn for the worst.

"This is definitely not glamping...The TV series presented a very different experience to the one we had," the customer said.

Louise, who has run her own campsite for 10 years with her husband Richard, said the use of her land for a celebrity glamping site was a "great opportunity". She said: "The minute the first episode went out we were booked out in three days solid."

Many customers enjoyed their stay but problems with the vehicles soon became apparent. Louise said there were "lots of issues with vehicles leaking" which she and Richard had to try to fix.

"The guests were really lovely. They took it in jest because it is what it is," Louise said. She continued that Johnny was "a lovely guy" and added his concept of a glamping site using repurposed old vehicles was "amazing".

She said: "It was an absolute powerhouse and [could be] a goldmine if they get it right at a good location. I wish them the best of luck and to learn from the experience here and make it the amazing place they
