John McGinn lives up Rangers defeat as Aston Villa hero beams at brother Paul's big moment
John McGinn joined the Motherwell celebration party after their unlikely win at Ibrox at the weekend - lauding older brother Paul's 'big dome' that saved the day.
The middle McGinn sibling was one of the Steelmen heroes who downed Rangers in Glasgow that moved them to within touching distance of the top six. It was Well's first win at Ibrox in 11 years and they had to dig deep to get it, defending with all their lives after Dan Casey put them in front for a second time.
Fabio Silva thought he'd headed in a second equaliser for Gers with just minutes remaining on the clock but McGinn had other ideas, getting his head to it to clear it off the line. And his brother John was onto Instagram on Sunday to dole out a backhanded compliment. Scotland and Aston Villa hero John, quoting Motherwell's video of Paul's heroics, wrote: 'Big dome paid off @paulmcginn_....'
It was a big weekend for two of the McGinn brothers, Paul's Motherwell winning at Ibrox while John's Villa beat Luton 3-2 on the road to keep their Champions League hopes alive. Eldest brother Stephen was also in action, though it was a less memorable weekend for him as his undefeated Falkirk dropped League One points against Annan thanks to a stoppage time equaliser.
