John Lundstram new Rangers contract latest as Philippe Clement drops love bomb amid Trabzonspor swirls

Philippe Clement insists he is "confident" that Rangers can secure John Lundstram on a new contract amid links with Trabzonspor.

The midfielder is approaching the end of his Ibrox contract but has left the door open to extend his stay at the club with boss Clement revealing earlier in the season that deal talks were underway. However, with no agreement in place the 30-year-old could leave for nothing at the end of the Scottish Premiership campaign, with reports in Turkey suggesting that the Super Lig side were preparing a bumper contract offer for the Scouser.

However, the Belgian boss was bullish when addressing the future of the key man in the Ibrox engine room - who has rediscovered his form under Clement having struggled to show his best during the final days of the Michael Beale era. Speaking ahead of the clash with Hibs, the boss was quizzed on if he thought Lundstram would be a Rangers player next season.

He said: “Yes. I am totally confident about that, that there’s a lot of love from both sides, so that there will be a solution.”
