John Higgins is still responsible for one of the most bizarre moments ever seen in snooker

Ronnie O’Sullivan rolled back the years at the 2022 World Snooker Championship to ascend back to the top of the world at the Crucible.

The Rocket stormed to the final of the showpiece event in Sheffield where he met a rampant Judd Trump.

O’Sullivan, on a mission to claim a record-equalling seventh title at the WSC, was not for being beaten though as he cruised to a deserved victory over the young gun.

While the glamour finale was one of the bona-fide great match-ups that snooker can offer, it was the semi-finals that truly stole the imagination.

O’Sullivan and Trump were only half of a superstar line-up that saw wily campaigners Mark Williams and John Higgins also battling it out for a spot in the final.

Trump just about overcame Williams in a rollercoaster match while O’Sullivan comfortably saw off his long-time rival, Higgins.

Higgins put in a great shift and, had he met Ronnie on any other day, would probably have booked his place in the final.

However, while Higgins was responsible for some truly brilliant snooker in that semi-final, we couldn’t help but hark back to one of his most iconic, and most bizarre moments around a snooker table.

Embroiled in a WSC match with Neil Robertson in 2019, Higgins was caught on camera watching on in a far from elegant way.

As Robertson surveyed his next shot, Higgins can be seen in the background in what can only be described as a comatose state.

Naturally, the clip of the moment, which you can see below, quickly blew up on social media as baffled fans tried to work out what on earth was going on.

You okay, John?

Fortunately, there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for all
