John Cena v AJ Styles: Clip from 2017 match reminds WWE fans just how great it was

Despite being around in WWE since 2002, it was one of John Cena’s opponents towards the end of his career that may have been his best.

John Cena shared the ring several times with AJ Styles during the latter’s first year in WWE, and every time they wrestled, it was magic.

John had some of his best matches against the former NJPW star, with the best of them coming at the Royal Rumble in 2017.

At the time, Styles was the WWE Champion, and Cena was hoping to tie Ric Flair’s record by winning his 16th world title at the show.

The result was utter perfection, with Cena and Styles having one of the best WWE matches in recent memory. Seriously, it was that good.

Clips have emerged online from the 24-minute championship match, reminding fans of just how brilliant it truly was.

You can see that video in the embedded tweet above, with it being clear for all to see that Styles and Cena’s in-ring chemistry was just off the charts.

Whether it was their reversals or their chain wrestling, it could be argued that this was the best match that either Styles or Cena have had in WWE.

As we covered previously, it was clear that fans were reminded of just how good the match was after seeing the clip of it online.
