John Cena: Cody Rhodes reveals touching advice from WWE legend

Cody Rhodes, rather recently, received some pretty touching advice from multi-time WWE Champion John Cena.

During the latter period of his AEW run, Cody Rhodes was getting some polarising reactions from WWE fans.

Like John Cena during the height of his WWE run, while some fans of AEW liked Cody’s matches and segments, others really didn’t.

As someone who experienced that, Cena gave Cody some advice, which the WWE Superstar really appreciated.

WWE released a new video recently onto YouTube speaking about John Cena, as we approach 20 years since his debut, where Cody opened up about his experiences.

The Raw star revealed the advice that Cena gave to him, saying:

“I was going through a polarizing time in my career. We were getting for the first time in my career a ‘Let’s go Cody, Cody sucks’ type thing.”

He very eloquently told me to be honest with myself, as to why a crowd would react that way. Look in the mirror, and if you feel you’re doing the right thing, keep doing it.

That wasn’t the only piece of advice that Cena offered Cody, with the Hollywood star speaking about how the wrestlers in the ring need to “reward” the fans.

Second piece of advice is that the crowd starts making any noise, in any capacity, they start clapping their hands, they start stomping their feet. They want you to fight back, something, then you have to reward them.

Cody Rhodes left AEW for WWE this year, returning to WrestleMania 38, and has been booked as one of the company’s top stars since then.

In fact, Cody has been booked so well, that reports state more people within AEW are considering joining WWE, which you can read more about by clicking here.

Speaking of Cody and Cena, the pair were both listed as part of the 100 greatest WWE
