John Cena: Bianca Belair reveals his supportive words after 26-second SummerSlam loss

Bianca Belair has revealed the supportive words she received from John Cena after her loss to Becky Lynch at SummerSlam last year.

At SummerSlam 2021, Becky Lynch returned to the company to beat Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

The return wasn’t met well, which is mainly down to the fact that WWE had Belair lose to Becky Lynch in a match that lasted just 26 seconds.

Now, in an interview with talkSPORT, Belair has revealed what went on once she walked through the curtain at the end of the match.

In the interview, Belair explained that she spoke to John Cena once she got backstage at the end of the match, with Cena set to wrestle later on in the show.

The EST of WWE explained that Cena offered her a lot of great advice after she lost in just 30-seconds in one of the biggest matches of her career:

“I really got to talk with John Cena a lot after the 26 seconds moment at SummerSlam. He really just gave me a lot of great advice and keep the right perspective of everything.

Belair explains that Cena told her that she could use the setback of losing in such quick fashion to “propel” her even higher up the card.

“Basically the gist of what he said was ‘moments like this you can really use to propel you. You see how much the fans really get behind you.’ For me, out of that, I was able to look at the longer picture, the bigger picture and hopefully one day it’ll come back full circle, who knows. 

The former NXT star said she wanted to use the opportunity to show what she could do without the title, and she says this has made her into an even “bigger star”.

“But for me, I took it as you can use this as an opportunity to show who you are without that title. I’m still the EST of WWE and I’m still going to go out
