Joe Hart offers Celtic red card apologies but 4 Parkhead teammates quick to offer goalkeeper social media reprieve

Joe Hart has apologised to his Celtic teammates after his red card in the win over Livingston.

The Hoops were a goal up on the Lions thanks to a Reo Hatate penalty but the game threatened to flip when the goalkeeper clattered into Mo Sangare. John Beaton showed him a straight red card for denial of a goalscoring opportunity but it mattered little to the final outcome, as Matt O'Riley and Daizen Maeda netted to seal a 3-0 Premiership win.

Taking to his Instagram page, Hart has held his hands up for the error that will now see him miss next weekend's Celtic clash with Motherwell at Fir Park. Scott Bain came into the game in West Lothian after Hart's dismissal and the team mentality is something the former England shot stopper was keen to highlight. He posted: "What a team performance @CelticFC. Apologies for my red card but team and support showed what they are about … top top mentality."

His teammates were quick to offer him a reprieve though. Daizen Maeda posted "we are family", while Liel Abada, Greg Taylor and Gustaf Lagerbielke all posted emojis of support.
