Joe Hart forgets crucial Celtic saves against Rangers as he drops derby 'mayhem' quip

Joe Hart isn’t entirely sure how he made his two outstanding and potentially title-clinching saves.

He didn’t cherish them at the time either as he kept his head through the derby mayhem to aim for the finishing line.

And Hart insists Celtic will do exactly the same as they hunt down the flag.

The 35-year-old came up trumps again for Ange Postecoglou with a couple of crucial second-half stops as his team took another big step towards the flag.

Although beaten at his near post by Fashion Sakala as Celtic lost their 1-0 lead, Hart touched another effort from the Zambian over and also made a terrific point-blank stop from Scott Arfield.

The keeper’s saves were lauded by the home fans but asked about them once the dust had settled, he said: “Ah, look, it is mayhem out there.

“I love being in goal and sometimes you do things that you ideally don’t want to do, that you know you are better than.

“And sometimes you do things where your body and your instincts take over. I don’t actually know what happened, I just know it stayed out.”

Hart was aware of their importance, but continued: “Yeah, I do but there is time to go. They were fighting for their lives. It was more important they won than we won.

“I was well aware with, however minutes to go, I felt like we were going to get chances and they were probably going to get more.

“They hit the post after that, so it was a tough game but a great game. A really good game to be involved in.

“Two good teams, two contrasting styles. Obviously we play to win. We are in a good, strong position and we will take the draw and move into next week.”

Hart knows epic title drama. He was the Manchester City keeper when they won England’s major prize with Sergio Aguero’s famous late goal
